NeuroStar, Technological Innovation for neurodegenerative diseases
From research new devices for diagnosis, prognosis and recovery of Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and multiple sclerosis
The 'technological innovation process support diagnosis, prognosis and functional recovery from diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis as well as the severe acquired brain injury is the aspect discussed at the workshop dedicated to the presentation of the results of NeuroStar Project and that ended only a few days ago in Crotone at the St. Anne Institute, headquarters of Poggio Pudano.
"NeuroStar is a big project born from the synergy between the public and private - said prof. Aldo Quattrone, Rector of the University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro - and to have a good impact on health you need to focus on innovation and technology. The purpose of NeuroStar is to improve the knowledge of some degenerative diseases and make industrializable some useful products to the care of this type of diseases. "
As part of the project NeuroStar CETMA has realized the following devices in combination with the St. Anne Institute of Crotone, the University of Magna Graecia of Catanzaro , CNR - Institute of Neurological Sciences:
- Intellibed , aimed at dynamic positioning mechatronic system and programmed and automated handling of the trunk and artuali segments of post-stroke patients and post- traumatic, in the first days after the acute event hospitalization;
- 4MO , robot System aimed at neuromotor rehabilitation of the upper limbs of hemiplegic patients;
- < strong> Copernicus system for neuromotor rehabilitation integral simultaneous hip, knee and foot for post-stroke patients and post-traumatic;
- Core @ Home , for the recovery/neuro-rehabilitation system for patients at home with results stabilized post-stroke and post-traumatic;
- AssistRoadSR , wearable system for the rehabilitation of the lower limbs in patients suffering from diseases of the central nervous system in an advanced state of recovery;
- Polyphemus , system recovery/containment of functional damage and improvement of sensory perception (visual, auditory ) in patients with brain damage involving a sensory channel and/or disabilities that can be offset by an improved sensory input;
- PD-Diagnose Analyser for the strict administration of the test olfactory part of the early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease;
- Neuroimage expert system for the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's;
- MotionRehab @ lab, MotionRehab @ Home for the recovery and rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson's, respectively, in medical laboratory contexts and in a domestic setting.
