Interreg TAGs project. Smart Farming and Agriculture 4.0 applications and opportunities

On 1st October 2020 from 16:00 to 20:00 the first Italian workshop of the Interreg TAGs Project (https://www.tagsinterreg.eu/), named “Technological and business innovation services for the local action groups in agri-food sector”, will be held in hybrid form: in presence in Sammichele di Bari, at the Caracciolo Castle, and online via Zoom Platform.
The workshop is organized by the Local Action Group "Terra Dei Trulli e di Barsento" and by the Order of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the Province of Bari, with the participation of all Project Partners (CREA, CETMA, Region of Western Greece and University of Patras, and under the patronage of the Municipality of Sammichele di Bari.
The event is addressed to all farmers and technicians of the Apulian agri-food sector and all stakeholders interested in increasing their knowledge in the field of smart farming and Agriculture 4.0.
Through the different thematic discussed, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations related to the precision agriculture: technologies, devices, drones, Decision Support Systems, strategies, as well as the main results achieved in Greece and in Italy within TAGs project. Moreover, new information on national and regional financing and investment plans related to Agriculture 4.0 will be presented.
The event, organized according to the safety regulations related to COVID-19 emergency, will have as speakers together with the Project Partners, Stefano Genco, President of LAG “Terra dei Trulli e di Barsento”, Lorenzo Netti, Mayor of the City of Sammichele di Bari, Giacomo Carreras, President of the Order of Doctors Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the Province of Bari, Giuseppe De Mastro, Associate Professor of Agronomy and Herbaceous Cultivation of the University of Bari "Aldo Moro" and all project partners.
Through this workshop the whole project partnership will have the opportunity to confirm its commitment to achieve the great challenge of the TAGs project: to create of a cross-border network, whose members are research and innovation actors, policy makers and companies from Western Greece and Puglia to increase the competitiveness of agri-food sector.
Agronomists and Forestry Doctors, regularly enrolled, will be awarded with qualifying CFP in accordance with CONAF Regulation n. 3/2013.

The Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020, with a budget of 123.176.896 euros, is a bilateral programme of cross-border cooperation, co-financed for 85% by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by the two Member States (Italy and Greece) with a national share of 15%. The main objective of the Programme is to define a cross-border growth strategy between Puglia and Greece, aimed at developing a dynamic economy based on smart, sustainable and inclusive systems to improve the quality of life of the citizens of these regions.
